Youth FM, which claims to be the world’s first interactive global
youth station, goes live this week. Although it has no long-term licence
from the Radio Authority, it will broadcast on a series of temporary
licences in eight major UK cities as well as from its own web site and
the Trinity Mirror ic24 web site. It has also secured channel 935 on the
Europe Sky Digital platform. The station is co-owned by Youth Clubs UK
and media company The Milestone Group. It promises a mix of music,
debate and discussion programmed by and for young people.
