Public Affairs: The Week in Lobbying

Champollion has become the latest agency to snare a Liberal Democrat adviser, with the appointment of Sam Cannicott as an associate consultant. Cannicott was, until recently, education adviser at the party's HQ.

Edelman has promoted senior consultants Jamie Lundie and Chris Rumfitt to be joint deputy MDs of its public affairs practice. This follows the promotion of Alex Bigg to group MD of the agency's corporate and financial practices.

Citigate Dewe Rogerson Public Affairs has been dropped by key client Lloyds Banking Group.

The bank has turned to College Public Policy for a slimmed-down political monitoring and intelligence-gathering brief.

Fishburn Hedges has clung on to its retained public affairs account with Virgin Trains after a competitive pitch. PRWeek revealed earlier this year that the train operator had put the account out to pitch (PRWeek, 4 June).

UK Public Affairs Council chairman Elizabeth France was due to meet with Cabinet Office minister Mark Harper as PRWeek went to press, to discuss the current state of the council.
