Edelman PR Worldwide has been appointed as the global PR agency for
the internet news joint venture, Dow Jones Reuters Business Interactive,
after a three-way pitch.
The joint venture was set up in July with combined revenues of the two
companies amounting to pounds 137 million.
It aims to create a new internet-based offering of global news and
business information. Plans are already afoot to extend its penetration
around the world.
The account will be serviced out of Edelman’s three international hubs
in London for Europe, New York for North America and Singapore for
Asia.
The contract, believed to carry a six-figure fee, runs for a year and
Edelman has been briefed to focus on corporate and technology PR.
Edelman UK chief executive Tari Hibbitt said the agency had always
planned to expand not only in hi-tech, but also its information and
internet businesses.
- Edelman PR Worldwide has been appointed by pan-European internet
communications provider World Online, to handle its consumer PR and work
with marketing agencies Finex Communications and the Joshua Agency.
