STOP PRESS: Sorrel cautions fees-for-shares trend
WPP chief executive Martin Sorrell has cautioned PR agencies who are cashing in on the gold rush of internet start-ups by exchanging fees for shares in the new companies. Speaking at a conference last week, Sorrell said the current bull market for internet start-ups could reverse and potentially leave agencies underpaid and out of pocket.
