Sports sponsorship agency Craigie Taylor International has
appointed Glen Kirton as its first international PR director.
Kirton will be responsible for developing the agency’s global sports PR
business. He will work alongside Craigie Taylor chairman Marcus
Robertson and managing director Kate Waterfall.
Robertson said: ’Kirton will have a role in co-ordinating and handling
our international activities and events. We wanted someone of his
stature to help us develop this area of our business.’
Kirton returns to the UK after almost four years as managing director of
Swiss sports marketing firm ISL. Prior to that he spent 25 years at the
Football Association, first in charge of the FA’s PR office and later as
head of external relations. He also worked as tournament director for
Euro 96, before moving to ISL to handle its FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro
’It’s a new development for the company and I hope to strengthen its
status on an international level by using my sports marketing experience
and contacts from the world of football,’ said Kirton.
Craigie Taylor International was ranked 49th in PR Week’s Top 150 league
table of the UK’s consultancies. It handles Vodafone’s sponsorship of
the England cricket team and of Manchester United Football Club. Other
clients include Famous Grouse whisky and United Racecourses.
