BORDER LINES: Galli takes helm at L’ Oreal

PARIS - L’Oreal, which is one of the world’s largest cosmetics groups, has appointed Giorgio Galli as its new head of communications and external relations. In that post, he replaces Jean-Pierre Valeriola, who has handed in his resignation. L’Oreal, which is based in Paris, recently posted first half revenues of pounds 3.8 billion, an increase of 14.5 percent over the same period last year. The company recently acquired control of two additional cosmetics-related firms, Kiehl’s and Matrix.
