Nexus Choat PR, the specialist consumer food and drink agency, has
bought out hi-tech marketing communications consultancy PCM.
The deal creates a pan-European technology division within Nexus
entitled Nexus.PCM Technology.
Headed by Portfolio Creative Marketing (PCM) founders Mike Lambert,
managing director, and Ken Munn, director of creative services, the
technology division will boost combined company fees to pounds 4.5
million and staff to 75 people.
Nexus Choat chief executive Jim Horsley said the acquisition marks the
first stage in expansion plans.
’We are looking to create a pan-European technology business and a top
10 IT PR division and want to achieve that through organic growth,’ he
said. ’We are considering acquisitions that could involve operations in
the key European markets.’
London-based PCM, founded seven years ago, currently employs 11 people
and reports an annual fee income of nearly pounds 1 million.
The agency provides business-to-business services to its existing client
base, which includes US based technology companies Hypercom and
Clearcommerce, and Hewlett Packard resellers such as Selway Moore.
All PCM staff and directors are joining Nexus Choat, with Lambert
joining the strategy board and Munn becoming a director on the
technology division board.
’The acquisition will accelerate our growth - more people are
approaching us now we are a part of something bigger,’ said Lambert.
