In a bid to manage the integrated services offering from parent

company Young and Rubicam, Burson-Marsteller has recruited Fiona Couper

as business development and integrated communications director.

Couper takes on the newly created position from her previous role as

associate business development director for Europe at B-M’s parent

company Young and Rubicam.

Reporting to B-M London’s chief executive Allan Biggar, Couper will lead

a team of two, one of which is yet to be recruited.

Couper, who has a background in advertising, will help lead the agency’s

drive into the integrated communications market, promoting PR as an

essential complement to both marketing and advertising.

Her brief is three-fold: to co-ordinate the agency’s different

communication offerings into cohesive integrated packages, to ensure the

agency is adequately branded in the market place and secure new

business.

According to Biggar the appointment is a strategic move by B-M to own

the middle ground within Y&R.

’Her role will be to manage the integrated channel - the glue that

sticks advertising, marketing, PR and direct marketing together.’

Prior to Y&R, Couper worked for Ogilvy and Mather as an account

director.
