The British and American Chamber of Commerce has appointed The

Flagship Group on a mixed PR and marketing brief to boost membership in

the IT sector.

The chamber is the result of a merger last month between the American

Chamber of Commerce UK - which advised US companies wishing to set up

here - and the British-American Chamber of Commerce which performed the

service but for UK firms with a US launch.

The merged chamber has more than 1400 members, including corporate

giants such as Boeing, IBM, Dell, Texaco, Dow Jones, Ford and American

Airlines.

The body describes its role as a provider of business development and

intelligence services, promotional work and advocacy.

Director Dick Newby will lead the account reporting to chamber CEO Neil

Johnson.
