The Communication Group has been hired to promote five-star resort
the Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire, Scotland.
The account was won after a three-way pitch, although TCG has worked for
Gleneagles on projects in the past.
Campaign director Julie McGarvey will lead the account and reports to
Gleneagles head of marketing Dorothy Welsh. Gleneagles wants to become
more proactive and revamp its PR strategy. It was felt that it needed
more activity in the south and this drove the decision to hire a PR
The Gleneagles Hotel offers three championship golf courses and guests
enjoy activities such as fishing, falconry, archery and off-road
The key audience for the Gleneagles campaign will be the London and
South East travel market. The usual travel media and journalists will be
targeted, but the campaign will also have a broader consumer focus, with
lifestyle media also being targeted.
TCG’s other travel and tourism clients include luxury resort company Sun
International, which has resorts such as the Lost City in Sun City,
South Africa and short-break specialist Bridge Travel.
