Advocacy, the Westminster-based lobbying company, has been
appointed by Foster Care Associates (FCA) on a public affairs brief.
FCA, a private firm which helps councils find foster parents for
children in care, has retained Advocacy for a year initially, to see the
Care Standards Bill through Parliament.
The bill will establish independent arrangements for the regulation of
such private sector foster agencies. FCA specialises in ’hard-to-place’
children, who may have been abused or have serious emotional
problems.
FCA will hope to draw on the parliamentary experienmce of Advocacy
managing director Fred Silvester, a former Tory MP. The account will be
led by board director Maureen O’Mara.
FCA uses no other PR or public affairs agencies. Advocacy did not have
to pitch for the account.
