Greater Manchester Police’s communications director Collette Booth
has been given the go ahead to appoint a permanent head of press after a
12-month gap. The position is a key role within the communications team,
taking responsibility for a staff of eight and reporting to Booth. Part
of the brief will be to promote the force’s work on dispelling fear of
crime in Manchester. The post has been filled on an acting basis by
Sarah Dean-Forrester since Mary Todd left to return to study.
