Previously global corporate vice-president of German comms firm Henkel Group, Austrian-born Primosch has also held senior positions at Siemens, Schwarzkopf and Porter Novelli.

He begins in Hill & Knowlton's Frankfurt office on 1 July and will report to the company's Germany chairman Detlev Geiger - but Primosch will take over the chairman role when Geiger steps down as planned in August 2011.

Primosch said: 'Hill & Knowlton is the oldest and one of the most successful network agencies worldwide and I am looking forward to providing modern consulting and communications and branding solutions with [the] outstanding German and international teams.'

At the same time, in an unrelated move, H&K has hired Alexandra King as a senior account manager in its London-based consumer packaged goods team. She moves over from Proctor & Gamble's Australia / New Zealand division.
