PUBLIC SECTOR: Exeter lures Pearse from Lewes to head PR

Exeter City Council has lured Amanda Pearse from her role as press and PR manager at Lewes District Council to fill its top PR post. She will work closely with chief executive Philip Bostock to increase the effectiveness of community consultation. Her brief is to develop new streams of community communication such as community forums and focus groups as part of the council’s commitment to the Government’s Best Value legislation. Pearse will work alongside the existing press officer at the council. The authority - a Best Value pilot council and a participant in the Local Government Improvement Project - is aiming to gain Beacon council status.
