The Communication Group (TCG) has poached APCO UK associate
director Mark Adams to head its political division.
Adams’ announcement came within hours of the resignation of TCG’s most
senior public affairs consultant, John Arnold, who has quit the agency
to set up his own consultancy with colleague David Beamer. Arnold and
Beamer work on public affairs accounts at TCG, including BNFL and the
London Tourist Board.
Adams is expected to leave APCO later this month. At TCG, he will report
to group MD Peter Hamilton and lead an eight-strong division, which is
TCG’s highest fee-earning division, alongside the consumer practice.
He replaces Peter Bingle, who moved over after four years to become
managing director of GPC in July (PR Week, 9 July).
