NEWS ROUNDUP: Stories which broke in PR Week’s absence last week - UNM TV arm merges PR roles

United Broadcasting and Entertainment, the TV arm of United News and Media (UNM), has merged its two most senior PR roles - and is losing their occupants. Public affairs director Simon Albury, who had had been PR chief since 1990, is to return to TV production. John Brissenden, controller of press and publicity, left this week following a cost-cutting review which resulted in his job being merged into Albury’s. Brissenden has joined consumer PR agency Shine Communications on a short term contract. Albury will stay on in his role until a replacement is found.
