Allied Carpets has appointed Gavin Anderson on a six-figure fee to help defend it from a hostile bid from discount retailer Brown and Jackson.

Allied Carpets has appointed Gavin Anderson on a six-figure fee to

help defend it from a hostile bid from discount retailer Brown and

Jackson.



Prior to the bid both parties used Brunswick for financial PR. Brown and

Jackson has now appointed Shandwick. Another interested party in

acquiring Allied Carpets, venture capitalist Wassall, is represented by

its longstanding agency, Financial Dynamics, while rival bidder Tapis St

Maclou is not believed to have a UK agency.
