Earle was sacked by the broadcaster yesterday after match tickets which were allocated to him for family and friends were used to promote a Dutch alcohol company.
A group of Dutch female fans, who were attempting to promote a Bavaria beer, were ejected during the Holland game against Denmark on Monday. Following investigation, it transpired that they had used tickets which had been allocated to Earle.
In quotes reported in the Daily Mail today, Earle claimed he had been no more than ‘naïve'. He protested: ‘I didn't think I had done anything wrong. I hope when people hear the full story they will see me in a different light.'
ITV announced yesterday it had terminated Earle's contract with ‘immediate effect'. Earle has worked with ITV since 2002.
The Guardian wrote today that Earle was also set to be dropped from his role as an official ambassador for England's 2018 World Cup campaign.
Hall currently heads up PHA Media and was hired by England footballer John Terry in February following allegations about his love life.
