The National Autistic Society’s (NAS) lobbying activities are set
for a boost with the establishment of the first All Party Group on
Autism and the selection of NAS parliamentary officer Virginia Harvey to
act as secretary to the group. Harvey will act as the key point of
contact between the various UK autism groups and MPs, responsible for
organising all meetings and speakers. The establishment of the group
will provide MPs with a clear channel to access information on autism.
Harvey is the only parliamentary officer at the NAS and reports to
director of communications Judith Barnard.
