The PRCA has signed up 20 new members over the last 12 months,
including financial PR firms College Hill and Cardew and Co.
The association, which now has 180 members, has not traditionally
attracted the top financial agencies, but College Hill is a top 20 PR
firm. City PR agencies within the PRCA include Bell Pottinger Financial
and Lansons Communications. The PRCA has 18 specialist financial
agencies among its membership.
Since the PRCA introduced its consultancy management standards, two
agencies have left because their fee income is too low to meet the
minimum pounds 200,000 required by the standards.
These are OPR, based in Saltaire in Yorkshire, and Romerco, based in
Tring in Hertfordshire.
The PRCA now represents 65 agencies with a fee income over pounds 1
million, and firms employing a total of 4,800 staff.
Agencies which have joined recently include the Red Consultancy, Shire
Hall Communications, Sector PR, Binns and Co, LSA and Regester
Larkin.
- The PRCA has hired Jane Jervis as assistant director. She takes charge
of marketing, media relations and the business referral system, PReview,
from Frances Preedy, who left left last summer. Jervis was an account
director at Barclay Stratton before taking a break to have children.
