£1 billion PR and marketing campaign lined-up to promote tourism around 2012 Olympics

Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport Jeremy Hunt will today outline plans to promote UK tourism around the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics with the launch of a marketing and public relations fund believed to be worth £1 billion.

Hunt will make the announcement at lunchtime today at the Olympic sailing venue the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy.

Plans for how the fund will be split were 'still being reflected on last night', according to a spokesman for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
