JOHANNESBURG: One of South Africa’s biggest glass companies, South

Africa Glass Industries, has hired College Hill to prepare it for

flotation.

The financial PR account was won after a competitive pitch two weeks

ago.

The South African firm makes and distributes a range of glass products,

including mirrors and soundproofed and security glass, and distributes

to 41 countries worldwide. It is expected to be floated on the retail

sector of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange on 5 July.

College Hill joint managing director Tom Allison said: ’We will

communicate the strategies and prospects of Africa Glass

Industries.’

The agency will raise the firm’s profile with the investment community,

financial media and fund managers. The firm hopes to raise #7.3 million

which it will use for strategic acquisition and to pay back debt.

South Africa Glass Industries’ main rival is Plate Glass.
