Luther Pendragon has made a 'small number' of redundancies as a result of its acquisition of Quintus Public Affairs last December.

One source told PRWeek there had been between five and ten redundancies, but Luther managing director Simon Whale said he 'did not recognise those numbers'. He said the agency was '99 per cent of the way' through the redundancy process and was 'not anticipating any more'.

The redundancies were made over the past three weeks in order to find natural efficiencies as a result of the two businesses coming together.

Whale added: 'Luther has not made any redundancies through the recession - we've been building our business through that period. We've been incredibly resilient.'

He also pointed out that Luther recently picked up three accounts - the Centre for Low Carbon Futures, Sportech and software company Itron.

Luther inked the deal with Quintus in December. The deal saw Quintus managing director Chris Guyver and his 18 staff move across to Luther's offices.
