Kathryn Porter, head of PR at advertising agency Saatchi and

Saatchi, has been made redundant after two-and-a-half years in her

post.

Porter was made redundant last week and is now on gardening leave. She

plans to go freelance in the short-term and has not decided on her

long-term future.

Porter reported to Saatchi joint CEOs Tamara Ingram and Adam

Crozier.

Her job consisted in managing the agency’s reputation across the UK and

Europe, including both internal and external communications.

Ingram said: ’We’re refocusing on PR and the way we do it, making sure

that Adam and I take all responsibility for it. PR plays a very

strategic role for us. Kath was made redundant because we felt we needed

to approach PR in a different way.’

Saatchi and Saatchi counted an annual global fee income of about #378

million in 1998. Its clients include Procter and Gamble, Toyota and

Hewlett-Packard.
