Lucas Varity, the automotive and aerospace components company taken
over by US rival TRW earlier this year, has lost its group corporate
Nicholas Jones left the company on Wednesday, without announcing his
next move, after two-and-a-half years. He was unavailable for
Before joining Lucas Varity in 1997, Jones was corporate relations
director at publishing group Reed Elsevier. Prior to that, he was an
associate director at Good Relations.
Corporate PR for Lucas Varity will now be handled at TRW headquarters in
Cleveland, Ohio, under external and automotive communications
vice-president Michael Jablonski.
Lucas Varity’s IR function is headed by Joe Canti. Canti will stay on,
but it is not clear whether he will remain in London or move to the

of 15 PR staff for the company’s various divisions were scattered across
Europe and the US. They have now all transferred to TRW.
During the takeover, TRW retained Citigate Dewe Rogerson for financial
PR. The agency continues to work for TRW on an ad-hoc basis, but the
company is reviewing its UK financial PR needs.
Countrywide Porter Novelli continues to handle Lucas Varity’s spare
parts division, and TRW retains Burson-Marsteller in the US as its
corporate PR agency.
