Time magazine is introducing a new editorial page dedicated to
technology and new media issues, called Techwatch, which will be
published for the first time on 4 October.
The new page will run every other week and appear in the Notebook
section of Time’s international editions. It will cover developments and
trends in medical, environmental and biological technology.
James Geary, special projects editor for Time Atlantic, said: ’This page
is evidence of our commitment to exploring and explaining the field.
We will feature the more innovative developments in areas as diverse as
computing and biology.’
The first Techwatch page will include pieces on opera star Placido
Domingo’s plans to release new music over the internet, and a bra that
monitors the wearer’s heart rate and alerts emergency services at signs
of fear or distress.
