Many hacks were chuffed with their new chums, but reached for the phone to ring animal welfare charities. For goodness hake, no need to carp on about it.

2. Shine United has triumphed in the PR Football League for a second year running. It all came down to the final game of the season after runner-up Grayling FC won its last game to take it to the wire. Shine just about sneaked a tense finale - er, 12-1. And Flack thought Chelsea's Premiership title winning 8-0 procession against Wigan was one-sided.

3. Greene King IPA toasted itself this week after announcing it will be the official beer of Nottingham Forest FC. Yet the beer brand's press shot raises eyebrows. Claret and blue seats don't exactly scream Nottingham Forest's red and white. So where is this stadium impostor?
