Public Affairs: BPPA bids to replace Caine

Bell Pottinger Public Affairs is on the hunt for a heavy-hitting lobbyist to fill the shoes of Jonathan Caine, following his appointment as special adviser to the new Northern Ireland secretary Owen Paterson.

Caine left BPPA in November to work at Tory HQ in the run-up to the general election. He was expected to return to the agency, with BPPA last month issuing a press release trumpeting his return.

But last week, it emerged Caine, ex-assistant director in the Conservative Research Department, had other plans. BPPA chairman Peter Bingle told PRWeek Caine would be replaced. 'We are talking to senior Tories and Lib Dems about joining us,' said Bingle.
