What is it good for?

Kitsch decor lends a quaint West Village feel to this Holborn bakery, making it the ideal location for friendly media meetings and breakfast catch-ups. All food is made fresh on the premises. Old-time sweets are stored in glass jars a on wooden shelves alongside heavily frosted carrot cake and heavy brownies.

Signature dishes

Fluffy quiche, inventive salads and sandwiches. It also serves Monmouth coffee. The breakfast menu includes scrambled eggs on sour dough toast and ham and cheddar croissants.

Who's the boss?

Jon Dalton (of Bloomsbury Bowling fame) opened the Fleet after a decision was made not to simply roll out the bowling 'concept'.

Tips please

The queue runs out the door on weekdays: turn up before 1 to avoid the lunchtime traffic and take a seat on a sofa downstairs.

What's the damage?

American-sized portions of quiche and side salad for about £7. Grab a sandwich and slice of cake for no more than £5.
