Madano hires Stuart Garforth; FWD PR wins banking task.

The Madano Partnership has hired Stuart Garforth as an associate. He will be working in the corporate practice at Madano in developing the environmental communications side of the business. He spent almost ten years with KPMG in London and Zurich, most recently as global executive director of the firm's primary mergers and acquisitions arm. Since leaving the accountancy firm in 2008, he has run his own consultancy.

The European Financial Marketing Association has selected FWD PR to handle its PR. The organisation, which has more than 3,000 members, represents 80 per cent of retail banks in Europe. The international brief was won via a pan-European competitive pitch.

Czarnikow, a specialist advisory research and trading businesses in the sugar and ethanol market, has handed a retained brief to Cubitt Consulting. Cubitt will advise on thought leadership, media relations and wider marketing and branding issues.

Peregrine Communications has won two new clients in the fund management space.

It has been called in by Signet Capital Management, an independent fund of hedge funds specialist headquartered in London and Lausanne, with assets of $1.5bn. It has also won Onslow Capital Management, managers of a global macro hedge fund with more than $100m in assets.

Andrew Murray-Watson, the former business editor of The Independent on Sunday, has joined Mission Media as its head of corporate. He left journalism in 2007 to become president of comms at Petra Group of Malaysia and, in 2009, he co-founded Windrush Communications.
