Microtouch, the US maker of touchscreen monitors, has hired Banner
Public Relations to handle its pan-European PR.
Appointed following a competitive pitch in December, Banner will manage
media relations in the UK, Germany, France and Italy directly from its
London base. The account will also include some work in Spain,
Scandinavia and the Benelux countries.
Agency director Chris Corfield explained that Microtouch was keen to
move away from pure product PR and highlight the value of its equipment
in terms of customer service and business development. In particular,
Banner will target systems integrators which install computer networks
for corporate clients.
Corfield added that Banner was confident of handling European work, even
though it has no overseas affiliates of its own. ’I don’t believe it’s
an ideal solution for every company, but clearly there are some that
find it appropriate,’ he said.
