The European Space Agency has appointed The Rowland Company as its
first PR agency after a competitive pitch (PR Week, 1 May). Rowland will
work alongside its sister advertising agency, Saatchi and Saatchi, to
devise a communications strategy for the space agency and implement it
on a pilot scheme basis. The first stage of the work will include
polling the public and opinion formers and the project is expected to
last until April. The space agency is based in Paris and funded by the
governments of its 17 member countries.
