Diary: Frankly speaking, she’s completed the circle

During five weeks of promoting Absolutely Now!, Lynne Franks admits to doing all the things she used to warn her clients against - interviews at home, introducing family and boyfriends, and doing an interview with Lynn Barber.

’I’m not going to answer any more questions about peeing in a circle or

whether I’m still friends with Jennifer Saunders,’ Franks announced at a

party for friends and colleagues last week.

The party at the offices of Lynne Franks PR verged on the sedate - a far

cry from the days its founder described from her chat-show style

set.

One Christmas party had a green and red theme, including the drinks -

’People complained of green pee for days afterwards’. (I thought we

weren’t going to mention pee? - Ed).

As the book makes clear, excess - be it alcohol, cocaine or shopping -

has become a thing of the past for Franks. Well, maybe not shopping.

This particular event was all over by 9.30pm - or maybe no one told me

where the after-party party was.
