The account was won following a four-way pitch and will see Havas agency Cake take the lead on PR, social media and experiential work.

Yahoo is launching an online penalty shoot-out competition to coincide with the FIFA World Cup 2010. The two highest scorers from the online competition will be flown to Rio de Janeiro to take part in a real-life penalty shoot-out against former England goalkeeper David Seaman. The ultimate winner will get tickets to 16 of the world’s big sporting events over the next four years, culminating in Brazil 2014.

Yahoo’s V-P of sports & entertainment marketing Chris Cassidy said the campaign was an attempt to ‘continue Yahoo’s vision of being the centre of people’s online lives’.

Famous goalkeepers are launching the campaign through a series of ‘guerrilla’ penalty shoot-out events in London, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Berlin, Seoul, Sao Paulo and Jakarta. The London event took place last weekend.
