Mike Seymour, Burson-Marsteller’s European managing director of

issues and crisis management, is quitting the consultancy to join his

former colleague Alison Canning at First and 42nd.

Seymour, who joined B-M in 1988, handed in his resignation three weeks

ago.

The final date for his departure has yet to be decided, but he is likely

to join Canning by September.

’Mike will be developing new products and methodologies to help

companies manage their business risks in the most effective way to

safeguard stakeholder value,’ said Canning.

’What appeals to him is the chance to push his particular area of

expertise up the corporate agenda.’

PJohn Brown, managing director of B-M’s marketing practice, will become

a non-executive director in November. He will continue to work on the

Unilever account on a part-time basis.
