All directors of communications within the Government are to be briefed by permanent secretary for Government communications Matt Tee, who himself has been briefed by the prime minister David Cameron.
A Government director of communications said: ‘Matt will have heard from the prime minister what the comms priorities of the Government will be. That’s still work in progress. It’s a slightly more complex organisation now.’
The meeting had been scheduled before the election for today, when it was expected that the new administration would have been in place for nearly a week.
