Public Affairs: The Week in Lobbying

Alliance Boots has hired Pfizer lobbyist Andrew Bonser as director of public policy. Bonser is currently director of European government affairs at drugs firm Pfizer. He starts the new role next week, replacing Peter Gibson, who has retired.

Serco has appointed Lisa Lipshaw to the position of government relations manager. Lipshaw, who has started at the outsourcing giant, spent two years as comms executive at the Learning & Skills Council. She replaces Nikki da Costa, now an associate director at lobbying firm Bellenden.

StrataMatrix has hired ex-Morgan Allen Moore consultant Chris Isaac as head of media and public affairs. The Welsh PR and public affairs firm is run by founder Wynne Melville Jones. Isaac is also former media adviser to Labour MP Chris Bryant.

Elwood & Atfield and pollsters ComRes last week hosted an election night event at the former Conservative Central Office in Westminster's Smith Square. Last week's edition of PRWeek inaccurately stated the event was hosted by Hanover. In fact, Hanover MD Charles Lewington was among the guests at the E&A event, along with industry figures including new FSA comms director Tom Kelly and Royal Mail comms director Mary Fagan. PRWeek apologises for any confusion.
