Crocs' European arm, Crocs Europe BV, has brought in H&K as retained comms agency after a competitive pitch. The agency will focus on brand positioning, sales support, product launches and corporate comms in Europe.

A central team led by Tanno Massar, a former Unilever comms executive, from H&K's Amsterdam office will lead the account, with national accounts including the UK, France, Germany and Ireland led from its offices in those countries. Associate director Claire Holden will lead the UK account.

The instantly recognisable shoes have sold more than 120 million pairs since their US introduction in 2002. The bright 'clogs' have split public opinion and sales have suffered in recent years, although recent trading has been more positive, with double-digit revenue gains in the first quarter.

Robin Akeroyd, MD of Crocs Europe, said: 'This year is the right time for us to take Crocs to the next level.'
