The company parts ways with Brands2Life, which previously handled the UK component of the business. The EMEA brief is a newly created assignment.
In addition, Kelkoo has re-appointed Hopscotch to handle its business in France.
The decisions follow a lengthy pitch that was overseen by Kelkoo PR director Cristina Rebollo. The final round involved four agencies, with Red eventually emerging successful.
The agency will attempt to reposition Kelkoo as a leader in European online shopping. Currently, the company ranks third in terms of European users. The company has been investing in building up its marketing and PR operations since its sale from Yahoo in November 2008.
Red MD Andrew Baiden led the agency's pitch team and will take overall responsibility for the account. Red consumer brands director Matt Buchanan oversees strategic planning. Associate directors Andrea Carter and Ben Dutton will run Europe and the UK, respectively.
The two accounts will include corporate, broadcast and digital integration.
‘Red broke new ground with its first pitch, then adapted its approach in the second stage through new creative routes that will help us challenge established brand leaders and raise unprompted awareness across our European markets as well as the UK,' said Rebollo.
