The Corporation of London has switched its Belgian public affairs
account from GPC Market Access to Shandwick after a competitive pitch
(PR Week 16 January). The Corporation, which represents the City’s
interests in Europe, has changed the focus of its Brussels lobbying from
local government issues to matters which affect the City as a financial
centre. Shandwick already handles UK public affairs for the Corporation.
Tony Halmos, PR director at the Corporation, said: ’We want to make sure
nothing happens in Brussels to affect the standing of the City.’
