New moves at Guardian

Guardian and Observer marketing manager Stephen Palmer has been promoted

to head of marketing across both titles. Camilla Nichols, the head of

press and PR for both titles, has taken on the additional role of head

of corporate affairs.

Hyams joins the Clothes Show

Debbie Hyams has been appointed beauty editor of BBC Magazines’ Clothes

Show magazine. She joins from the National Magazine Company’s Company

where she was deputy health and beauty editor.

Bailey moves house to rival

Carolyn Bailey is joining the National Magazine Company’s Good

Housekeeping as home editor from IPC’s rival Woman and Home where she

was also home editor. Jane Newdick is the new homes and entertaining

editor and Pip O’Brien joins as style editor. She was acting home editor

of Inspirations.

Country Living for London

The National Magazine Company’s Country Living magazine is launching its

first ever Country Living Christmas Fair at the Business Design Centre

in Islington in November following the success of its five year-old

Spring Country Living Fair.

Kershaw a hit for Attic Futura

Attic Futura has appointed Chantal Kershaw as assistant publisher for

Inside Soap and TV Hits in the UK and HiT in Germany. Claire Baylis is

joining Attic’s Sugar magazine as features editor.

Promotional task for Mullen

Maurice Mullen is joining the promotions department for Elle, New Woman

and Elle Decoration. Mullen joins from the Evening Standard where he was

advertorials manager.

Classified information on ET

The Electronic Telegraph is introducing an interactive classifed section

from April 2. The ET has also been revamped making it easier to move

around the paper.

Bryson leaves Family for NBC

Alan Bryson is joining NBC as sales director for Europe from the Family

Channel where he was head of sales.
