BORDER LINES: DUBLIN - Murray buys McMahon Sheedy

One of Dublin’s largest PR agencies, 40-strong Murray Consultants, has acquired a smaller rival PR shop, McMahon Sheedy, for an undisclosed sum. McMahon Sheedy, which started trading in 1971, employs ten people and has a strong reputation in the agricultural and food sector, as well as in FMCG and corporate PR, but has of late suffered a number of client losses including the account for spirits and wines distributor Gilbey’s, a subsidiary of Diageo. McMahon’s clients and remaining staff are all understood to be transferring to Murray. McMahon Sheedy founder John McMahon said: ’We will now have access to the full resources of Murray and will be able to offer our clients a greater rangeand depth of service.’
