Swiss Exchange selects Omnium man as PR chief

The Swiss stock exchange has poached former Omnium Financial director Pascal Huser to head its PR and marketing in the UK.

The Swiss stock exchange has poached former Omnium Financial

director Pascal Huser to head its PR and marketing in the UK.

The Zurich-based Swiss Exchange (SWX) is the seventh largest stock

market in the world. SWX is one of eight exchanges in talks about the

creation of a pan-European stock exchange based around the alliance

between the London Exchange and Deutsche Bourse.

Huser has taken up the new position of vice president and head of

marketing UK and will be based in London, where the exchange opened an

office on Wednesday. He expects to build up a PR team in London, but

will initially liaise with the existing nine-strong team in Zurich.

Huser’s task is to strengthen contacts with international investors,

including banks and stockbrokers, to promote SWX’s products and

services.

Part of his task is to boost the number of non-Swiss members of the

exchange.

PR will be targeted at the financial press, specialist titles and

investor relations conferences and seminars.

Huser reports to SWX customer relations and marketing head Michael

Staheli and marketing vice president Tanja Tibaldi, both of whom are

based in Zurich.

The exchange launched new automatic clearance and settlement systems

this month called EuroSic and EuroSecom. It hopes these will attract

business by enabling the exchange to process transactions in different

currencies.
