STOP PRESS: Meat body suspends PR review

The Meat and Livestock Commission has put its PR and public affairs review on hold for six months on the back of continued unrest in the farming industry (PR Week, 27 November 1998). Corporate communications head Nicky O’Reilly said: ’With the continued state of crisis in farming, we decided it wasn’t the right time to consider changing agencies.’ Pig farmers were the latest to highlight their plight, when they held a protest march in central London last weekend. The Commission uses Bell Pottinger for PR and Shandwick for public affairs.
