Bullying charity boosts comms
Kate Magee 24-Apr-08
Beatbullying has strengthened its press team following the departure of its comms chief in March.
The charity has hired Mission Media's senior account manager Sherry Adhami to be senior comms officer. She has five years' consumer PR experience, including helping to launch Beatbullying to the media when she worked at Frank.
She will focus on gaining coverage in national and regional media and liaising with celebrity supporters.
Meanwhile, Tony Holmes, a former digital marketing officer from music youth marketing agency Point Blank, has joined as the charity's first digital communications officer.
Holmes will be in charge of developing the charity's online presence as it looks to reach out to young people through the internet.
'We have seen a migration of bullying from the playground to the internet, so we want to develop ways of engaging with young people online,' said comms manager Richard Piggin.
