Oriella reveals results of digital media survey

The European Digital Journalism Study has been published by the Oriella PR Network. It quizzed journalists from across Europe about the impact digital media has had on the way they work. The results suggest that journalists working in the traditional press have had to catch up with digital technology. It found that one in four European journalists are producing video podcasts despite only a small minority of those questioned working in the broadcast media, while almost half authored blogs.

The report also discovered that two-thirds of the journalists probed have had no training in digital media.

Parity, the IT services, training and recruitment company, has appointed Lewis PR to handle its national and industry PR in the UK. Lewis will start its campaign immediately and will work on raising Parity's profile across the national, IT, HR and training press.

Stonesoft Corporation, the network security company, has enlisted Harvard PR. Harvard will be responsible for publicising Stonesoft's move into the security virtualisation market. Virtualisation, widely seen as a high-growth area, allows a single server to perform tasks that would previously only have been possible using multiple servers, helping companies cut energy costs and flaunt their green credentials. However, this process creates an extra security risk and providing companies with protection against this is a new and potentially lucrative market.

Skala Marketing has launched a digital arm offering online marketing services. Skala Digital will provide facilities for pay-per-click, optimised search engines and increased online visibility.
