Brands2Life wins Google business software brief

Google: business software support

Google: business software support

Clare O'Connor 22-May-08

Brands2Life has snapped up a lucrative brief to support Google's business software division in the UK.

Google Enterprise allows companies to create their own search engines. Multinationals currently using the web giant's products include American Express and Eli Lilly.

Brands2Life was selected after a hunt for new agency support by Google Enterprise head of comms Annette Ryszkowska (PRWeek, 1 May).

Google had been working with Windsor-based Octopus Communications on this piece of business, but the relationship ended last month.

Google retains Portland PR for its corporate account and Cow PR for consumer project work.

'We had an extended brief to include analysts and an expanded product portfolio, so we needed to consolidate the PR agencies we were working with,' said Ryszkowska.

The agency will promote Google Enterprise applications to chief information officers, IT directors and IT managers.

'While the brief is largely aimed at trade media, there will also be a thought-leadership strand that includes the national press as well as analysts,' added Ryszkowska.

Google Enterprise products can be used to search through a company's intranets, document and content management systems, file servers, corporate desktops and business intelligence applications. They can also be used on public websites to help customers and business partners.

This division is also responsible for high-profile and popular applications such as Google Earth and Google Maps, which will be promoted to businesses as operations and logistics tools to help manage workforces.

A version of Google Earth can also be used by government and aid agencies to access and share geographic information.

Google Enterprise joins a tech roster at Brands2Life that includes shopping portal Kelkoo (PRWeek, 3 April) and IT services giant Unisys (PRWeek, 14 February).
