Vindel moves from Band & Brown
Band & Brown tech stalwart David Vindel has left the global agency after 15 years.
Vindel led the technology division at Band & Brown before being appointed deputy MD. He was also responsible for management of Band & Brown’s international network, and sat directly below chairman Nick Band on the board.
It is understood that Vindel does not have another job lined up. However, Band & Brown planning director Fiona Longhurst said that the agency ‘fully expects to be working with David Vindel again soon, whether on a consultancy basis or as a client’.
She added: ‘He was there since day one and just felt it was time to take a break and do something else.’
Head of tech Valerie Weisenraider will take over Vindel’s responsibilities at the firm, including new business in the technology division. Band & Brown’s tech clients include LogicaCMG, Sony Ericsson, BT and Cisco.
Band & Brown has promoted directors Julie Parmenter and Mandy Sharp to the board on the back of Vindel’s departure. Parmenter has worked on boosting the agency’s business services in recent years. Sharp helped to launch Band & Brown’s experiential marketing company, Brando, and is now a managing partner. The agency also promoted Mel Garfield, Simon Francis and Matt Beavis to its associate board.
The Central Office of Inf-ormation recently handed Band & Brown a brief to promote learning outside the classroom (PRWeek, 10 August 2007).
