Tower Hamlets Council and Sandwell Council attempt to tackle knife crime.

Tower Hamlets Council has produced a viral campaign to highlight to young people in the borough the dangers of carrying a knife. The short film clip will be placed on websites such as YouTube and Bebo to reinforce the Home Office message that if you carry a knife you run the risk of it being turned on you.

Sandwell Council has also attempted to communicate the dangers of knives. Two 'hard-hitting songs' written and recorded by Sandwell pupils that take a stand against gang culture can now be heard on the council website.

Munro & Forster has made a new appointment in its public and voluntary sector practice. Vicky McGuire takes on the role of senior account director, leading the agency's PR strategy for the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement and a number of charities. McGuire was previously head of media at the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts.

Derby City Council head of comms and consultation Andrew Auld is leaving his job in September, in order to carry out an entirely new role. He is opening a bakery in rural Derbyshire.

Miguel Head, MoD chief press officer, has been appointed as a press officer for Prince Charles. He joins in September and will report to Clarence House comms secretary Paddy Harverson. Head helped manage the media blackout around Prince Harry's deployment in Afghanistan.
