LETTER: Darren Murphy was never 'summoned'
I was surprised to read in last week's PRWeek (Public Affairs, 2 May) that APCO UK managing director Darren Murphy had been 'summoned' to appear before the Public Administration Select Committee (PASC) as part of our inquiry into lobbying.
We did approach Mr Murphy to be a member of a panel of witnesses. But he was unable to appear on the date arranged. At no stage was he anything less than fully co-operative, and there was never any intention to 'summon' him.
Tony Wright MP, chairman, PASC, House of Commons
